Story of “Twin
Trees” name
When we started in
1984, our kennel name was “Carousel Farms”. It worked to cover
all the multiple breeds we had and our Arabian horses. I had collected carousel
pieces since I was a child, long before they were popular.
We had all male dogs
up until 1990 when we bought a bitch from Kathy Stewart, of
Klompen Keeshonden. We had never used our kennel name on a litter
before. When it came time, I
knew I couldn’t use it. By this time there were at least four kennels
here in the US and a couple in Canada that were using some version of Carousel.
So our “new”
kennel name, (which we used for the first time in 1996), celebrates the
fact that we have “twins” all around us. I have twin sisters, twin
aunts, and twin cousins. Steve
has twin stepbrother and sister. We also live under the “Twin Peaks”.
The “Trees”
comes from the idea that I have always thought that the “perfect home”
would be one with “Twin Trees” running up either side of the drive way.
Some day we will
make that a reality. All will be welcome between the “Twin Trees”.
